Vine Christian High School is a unique educational institution designed towards raising a robust generation of Christian Leaders through a well-tailored and comprehensive educational experience using the Cambridge International IGCSE program. The school admits learners from age 7 to 13 years. This new school rides on the back of the already highly successful Vine Christian School (VCS) utilizing this high level brand, quality and the graduating VCS students. The VCHS model provides a safe, positive and serene learning environment that encourages the holistic development and performance of our children.
This opportunity is a solid partnership between students, parents, facilitators, specialists and management in the following:
1 A tool for ministry to minister Christ to teenage children –
But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away; you give them something to eat!” Matthew 14:16
2 Provide a safe place for young people to develop Christian character and receive an excellent education at the same time –
“…making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil.” Ephesians 5:16
3 To help train young people in the way they should go –
Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
The school was founded in 2018 as a continuation of the already reputed Vine Christian preschool, primary and lower secondary school. Vine Christian High School’s mission is to offer continuity for students from VCS and other learners or parents who desire a CIE education for their wards with a Christ-centered focus that will dwell on the impartation of principles that raise children to become what God has designed them to be.
The VCHS fills the need for our students to bridge the gap of secondary and Advanced pre university Education in Ghana. Our focus is to equip learners for success in this changing world. Families already with us and families that would like to join us have the opportunity to continue their education with the Cambridge Lower Secondary program (ages 11-14), the Cambridge Upper Secondary program (ages 14-16) and eventually the Cambridge Advanced Program (16-19 years old).
Preparing Christ Centered Leaders.
Offer continuity for students from VCS as well as students from other schools desiring a CIE education in a Christian environment.
Create an environment where students learn to honour God, serve humanity and achieve their potential.
Vine Christian High School is a Christian School and all pupils are expected to participate in every school activity including those that will involve perspectives of Christianity. These will include prayer, worship, praise, Bible reading, scripture memorization, Bible stories and teaching etc. The home is the paramount Christian training ground for the child and the school recognizes Parents as the primary Christian trainers of their children. VCHS provides care and education to support parents in training their children. The purpose of the school is to serve as an important aid to and an extension of the home in the vital work of Christian training.
Six elements lie at the heart of a Cambridge education at VCHS: Christ centered, International curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, international recognition and global community.
There is a focus on Christ and students are led in the development of a Christian worldview in all aspects of their education.
There are a wide range of subjects with a flexibility in how to offer them. Cambridge supports us in developing a curriculum that suits our context, culture and ethos, and that we tailor to our students’ needs. Leading universities and employers worldwide accept Cambridge IGCSE as evidence of academic ability.
Cambridge also provides professional development for our teachers, to help them improve their performance and practice throughout their careers. Teaching practices that develop the ability of students to reflect on their learning are encouraged. Schools can draw on a wealth of teaching and learning resources and training for Cambridge IGCSE.
Cambridge designs our assessments to be fair, valid, reliable and practicable. We assess what we know to be of value: deep subject knowledge, conceptual understanding, and higher level thinking skills. Our flexible assessment structure maximizes time for teaching and learning. Assessment takes place at the end of the course and includes written, oral, coursework and practical assessment.
A Cambridge qualification is widely recognized by universities and employers. Cambridge students can be confident that their qualifications will be understood and valued throughout their education and career, in Ghana and internationally.
Cambridge schools belong to a worldwide education community with connections to other teachers around the world so they can share views, information and resources, and learn from one another.
The Vine Christian High School is located in the Trassaco Valley Area – a first class residential neighborhood in the Accra metropolis.
